CREATIVE DANCE AGES 3-4 (30 minutes) Explore the basic building blocks of ballet/contemporary dance forms through creative play.  This program focuses on social emotional development through interactive games using movement vocabulary drawn from contemporary and ballet dance forms.  Little ones develop a sense of autonomy with opportunities to share and express their creative voices. This program aims to explore personal and group dynamics in a fun and creative way, using drama, music, dance, art, and song along with group activities, journaling, and meditation in order to prepare for a 2-3 week long trip to somewhere in Canada. Participants will learn how to set boundaries, build resilience, work as part of a team, plan and execute a big adventure, and generally explore their own creativity.

"The fastest growing sport in North America". Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two, three, or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis, with a few modifications.

Custom Hockey is a stick and ball game played indoors, usually in the style of Ice Hockey, and played on flat floor surfaces, such as a gymnasium or a basketball court. This one day introductory pottery class will have 4 1/2 hours of hands-on time at the wheel. Each participant will be coached through the steps of throwing a basic cylinder cup shape and a bowl at their own wheel. You will have the opportunity to keep up to 3 cups or bowls by the end of the class. These cups or bowls will get trimmed, glazed and fired for you - ready for pickup 4 weeks later. Course fees includes clay, the use of a wheel for the day and all the tools necessary to make your own bowl. No experience necessary.

NEW!!! POTTERY CLASS-BEGINNER THROWING-MASSET

December 7 @ 3:00 pm - 7:30 pm

his 1 day pottery class is for those who have some throwing experience but area bit rusty and want to learn more. You should be able to centre clay and easily throw a cylinder to join this class. You will receive one on one attention to help you at whatever skill level you are at. We’ll make a cylinder together to warm up then you can move on to whatever form you wish. You can work on cups, bowls, collaring in for a bottle form, or work on the pitcher form... or maybe you just want to practice making cylinders. You will have 4 hours at your own wheel. You can keep up to 3 items, like cups or bowls by the end of the class - or 1 bigger piece. These items will get trimmed and glaze fired for you - ready for pickup a month later. Course fees include the use of a wheel, clay and all the tools necessary including an assortment of ribs. If you have your own ribs or other tools feel free to bring them along.

Music Together Haida Gwaii is excited to offer local families Music Together®, an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers . . . and the grownups who love them®. This 10 week semester class will bring music, fun, and play in a relaxed, non-performance-oriented setting. We will make music through developmentally appropriate activities that support and respect the unique learning styles of every child, and parents and caregivers will contribute to the enrichment of their child’s music environment, regardless of their own musical abilities. Music Together offers 45 minutes of PURE FUN with your child every week!
