Summer Day Camps

Registration open May 15th
Haida Gwaii Recreation has been providing affordable, in-town summer day camps for local youth ages 5* – 12 years for over 40 years! In our camps, we combine a weekly theme with fun activities that include sport, art, and getting outside, along with healthy snacks & engaging workshops delivered by local instructors (Camp Specialists).

NEW IN 2024

  • Our Summer Camps will have a new minimum age of 5 years or completed Kindergarten, up to maximum age 12 years.
  • Science Al!ve camps are for grades 3 (must have completed grade 3) to grade 7.
  • We are committed to supporting partner in-town camps, amplifying the opportunity for recreational childcare in our communities. We will aid in ScienceAl!ve registration in 2024 via our website.

Let’s get outside this summer and embark on scavenger hunts, play in the sand, run relays together, visit community gardens, explore the intertidal, celebrate with a end-of-week celebration, and more! 

Science Alive (Grades 3*- 7): Free Camps 
Theme: TechCraft
July 22-26: Gaw Tlagée - Old Massett
July 29-Aug 2: HlGaagilda - Skidegate
Aug 6-9: K'il Kun - Sandspit
 
HG Rec (Ages 5**- 12 years): $120/week/child
Theme(s): Time Traveller, Ocean Explorer and Wilderness Ranger
July 2 - 5, 8 - 12 & 15-19: HlGaagilda - Skidegate 
July 22 - 26: 'Wáan Kún - Gamadiis - Port Clements
July 29 - Aug 2 & Aug 6 - 9: Masset
Aug 2 - 16 & 19 - 23: Sandspit
 
*Has to have completed Grade 3.
**Has to have completed Kindergarten.
