Our After-School Programs help develop Haida Gwaii youth through a variety of educational activities. All programs are free and include a healthy snack for participants. Please complete the general registration and waiver form below for each child if you have not done so already. Come learn from three ‘head chefs’ in small groups some creative and exciting dishes. Each week will alternate baking or cooking, with kitchen safety tips and themes mixed in! The final week face off in your groups for a kitchen contest with local culinary judges. This program is all about fun in the kitchen!
Masset Kids Horse Club is a continuation of last years horse program with the addition of run, jump, throw, wheel. In case you're wondering run, jump, throw, wheel is the elementary version of track and field. This year, not only will the participants get the chance improve their self-confidence with horses but they will also get a chance to develop physical literacy with a variety of obstacle courses, and games all while enjoying the magic of horses.
Keen to learn a new instrument? Want to cover your favorite songs? Interested in knowing the production side of Music? This program is for anyone who loves music! Whatever style and whatever aspect this program will expose students to various instruments, singing, recording, jamming, songwriting, and just submersing themselves in music.
This program will involve a mix of outdoor play and nature crafts. Students will get to explore outside in search of materials to use in creating art. The instructors will lead participants in games and in making unique environmentally themed arts and crafts. Come with weather appropriate clothing, boots, and creativity!
